First famous posse born out of Paris, they became better and better up to their last wonderful album. The lyrics are thought and the musical background is well worked. They are the leaders of the "philosophical" move in french hip hop.
Ministère AMER
Members : Stomy Bugsy, Passy
Discography : "95200", "Pourquoi tant de haine"
They are from Garges-Sarcelles (95). They belong to "Secteur A". Their hardcore Rap brought them problem with french justice, especially with the famous "Sacrifice du poulet" and "Brigitte femme de flic". Stomy recently made a solo album ("Le calibre qu'il te faut") and Passy is about to ("Les tentations").
La Cliqua
Members : Rocca, Daddy Lord C., Raphael, Khondo.
Discography : "Conçu pour durer"
They come from Paris and they are considered as the firsts who brought a modern rap style in France, equivalent to best american rap. Rocca just made a solo experience ("entre deux mondes"). A new album will be out soon !
2Bal2Neg'

Members: Doc TMC, G Kill, Krokmiten (2Bal Niggets), Niro, Eben, Kicklow (2Neg)
Discography: "3x plus efficace"
2Bal2Neg' is the gathering of 2 posses: 2Bal Niggets and 2Neg. They decided to make an album together and that is a success. "3x plus efficace" is an extremely good album. It's perhaps the best in french hardcore style. We also can listen to them on the soundtrack of the movie "Ma 6-T va crack-er"
Suprême NTM
Members: Kool Shen, Joeystarr
Discography: "Authentik", "1993...J'appuie sur la gachette", "Paris sous les Bombes"
They can be considered as the oldest and most famous rap posse in France. Their hardcore style brought them problems with french justice because they had insulted police during one of their shows.

He began in 1995 with a very commercial single, " ça fait partie de mon passé", but he's now well known and recognized in the french hip-hop. He considers that french rap is not a family, despite the fact there exists great rappers. He likes particularly Ekoué, Koma, Lady Laistee and the artists with whom he participates in album.

Assassin

Assassin is the father of the french hardcore style. His texts deals with politic. His lyrics are different from most of rap lyrics because Assassin thinks culture and not violence is the mean component of a successful social revolution.
We should not forget others more "commercial" artists like MC Solaar, Ménélik, or pseudo rap posses like reciprok, rico, mellowman, alliance ethnik,....
We didn't mention other "growing" rappers who are good anyway, and that we appreciate a lot : Arsenik, La Rumeur, Afrojazz, Koma,....
