Pairings: Yohji x Aya
Inner Trinity (3/?)
By Max Ikari
Three pairs of eyes stared at his retreating back wondering what was
wrong with him.
"Maybe he has stomach flu," said Ken not bothering to stop eating
from
his plate.
"Maybe he just doesn't like your food Ken," said Yohji grinning, " I
wouldn't blame him either." " That or maybe you are trying to poison
him."
"Yohji!" said Omi widening his eyes, " Don't say that."
"You are just afraid that Aya may hear and believe it," said Yohji
picking his fork to eat.
All three were worried but didn't want to crowd Aya. Everyone needed
his or her own space and being Aya, he needed it more.
Aya barely made it to the toilet, dropping to his knees while he
vomited in the toilet. However, he didn't have enough food in his
stomach to do very much. So he spent about five minutes doubled over
the toilet with dry heaves that hurt much more than the actual
vomiting. His eyes were watery and his whole body was shaking
because
of the effort. Aya stood up all the while wondering what the hell
was
wrong with him. He hadn't mentioned it but he was having trouble
eating just like the little episode that had just happened. He kept
losing track of time which pissed him off to no ends. What the hell
was going on? Maybe he should listen to Yohji for once and go see a
doctor. He paused at the mirror looking at his reflection. He
admitted it, he looked like shit. His usually neat hair was stuck to
his forehead, his amethyst eyes seemed bigger than usual attracting
more attention. His complexion was paler, he looked sick. However,
after spending so much time in hospitals with Aya-chan, he didn't
feel
inclined to go to a hospital. Damn it. Opening the water fauset he
splashed some water in his face. As soon as he did this he felt like
he was about to faint. He walked down to the kitchen again, being
careful not to move too much because all his world seemed to be
spinning.
"Aya-kun are you okay?" asked Omi with concern.
Aya looked bad, his face was wet, he was dragging his feet and seemed
unable to focus his eyes in anything. He stood at the door for a
while not seeming to hear Omi and after a few seconds answered, " I
think I should go to a hospital, I don't feel too good," putting his
weight on the door and started slidding down.
"Aya!" yelled Yohji and ran to catch Aya before he hit the floor.
"What's wrong with him?" asked Omi
Ken put a hand on Aya's forehead and said, "He is burning up, we have
to take him to a hospital."
"How come nobody noticed?" asked Yohji trying not to show how angry
he
actually was. "Ken get the car, let's go!"
Ken stared at Aya a few seconds and then ran out the door to get the
car. Omi left Yohji's side to get an ice pack to put in Aya's
forehead for the drive to the hospital.
"Yohji!" yelled Ken from the car, " Let's go!"
Omi climbed in the passenger car of their most recent acquisition a
black Camaro. Nobody was very fond of it, but hey it got them to
places. Yohji slid in the back seat with Aya. He noticed that Aya's
breathing was labored and he was mumbling. He was already
delusional.
Not a good sign. So he kept speaking to Aya in a soothing voice,
while Ken drove them as fast as he could without killing them.
"Shhh, Aya is okay, you are safe," said Yohji and saw Aya mumbling
something. He lowered his ear to Aya's mouth trying to catch what he
was saying.
" . . . bitch. . . , sorry,. . . you're weak. . ., don't be angry. .
., please. . ., Ryo. .. .
Yohji lifted his head and only stared at Aya's face. He seemed like
he was fighting with someone. Could it. . . ? No, he just had a
fever
and was not making sense. No one with as high a fever as Aya had
could make sense.
Finally they arrived to the hospital and Ken took Aya from Yohji's
arms while Yohji got out of the car. A doctor received them and took
Aya to the ER. While they were waiting Yohji was a case of nerves.
He was scared. Just the thought of losing Aya made him feel crazy,
he
was having a feeling that he didn't want to admit to himself. It was
familiar, like the feeling he had felt for Asuka. He was pacing back
and forth in front of Ken and Omi who sat watching the doors for the
ER intently.
" Yohji! Please stop you are driving me crazy!" said Ken exasperated.
"Sorry," said Yohji trying to smile but failing, " I need a
cigarette."
" You can't smoke here, you know that," said Omi seriously.
" Thank you Omi," said Yohji sarcastically and returning the
cigarettes to his pocket.
Finally they saw the doctor who looked very serious. Omi was the
first talking to the doctor. " How is he? Is he okay?" said Omi
worried.
" Calm down young man," said the doctor with a smile, " He is fine,
however had he not come he would have died during the night with a
fever as high as he had. I am rather surprised you didn't come
before
this."
" We didn't know he was that sick," said Yohji quietly.
" Well he is resting and we broke the fever, however he will be weak
for a couple of days," said the doctor, " However I was wondering,
when was the last time he ate?"
The three just stared at each other and had to admit that they didn't
know. They ate breakfast together but never noticed what Aya ate.
Not that he shared.
" We---we don't know," said Ken with his eyes covering his eyes, like
this way he could escape the accussing eyes of the doctor.
" Well he is suffering from malnutrition and the symptoms he has are
because of lack of food, rest, a lot of stress. It is the body's way
of saying that it can't take it anymore," said the doctor. " He needs
rest and shouldn't exert himself for at least a week."
"Can we see him?" asked Omi
" Yes, he is resting so please be quiet," said the doctor, " Please
follow me."
They entered the room where they had Aya, he was lying in the bed
with
an IV tube in his arm, and various other tubes coming from his body.
He had a respirator on, and looked tired. It almost broke Yohji's
heart. He wanted to hug Aya and comfort him, make him better.
Somehow he felt responsible, nobody paid much attention to Aya
because
he never sought it. Some times it was as if he wasn't even there,
always in his own private hell. Omi got close and said, " Aya, can
you hear me?"
" He is sedated, so I don't think it will do much good, we had to
relax him a little. If you excuse me I will leave now," said the
doctor leaving the room.
" Aya?" repeated Omi not about to give up on talking to Aya. Aya's
eyes opened slowly and you could see by how dilated his eyes were
that
he was drugged.
" Hey," said Omi, " How are you feeling?" Aya just looked at him
with
almost no recognition in his eyes.
" Aya you were very sick," said Yohji, " Doctor said you should rest."
Aya closed his eyes as if registering what Yohji and reopened them.
Aya looked at them and then said quietly, " I don't want to stay
here."
" Aya you have to stay, we will pick you up tomorrow, ok?" said Yohji
trying to reason with him.
" N-no, I-I can't," said Aya and closed his eyes again. By his
breathing he seemed to be asleep.
" He's gone," said Ken, " What should we do?"
"You guys go on home, I will stay with him," said Yohji.
" Are you sure?" asked Ken.
" Yeah," said Yohji, " we shouldn't leave him alone." Ken seemed
reluctant to leave looking at Aya and Yohji before accepting.
"Okay, do you want us to bring something?" asked Ken.
"Yeah, you should bring some of Aya's clothes, just in case,"said
Yohji smiling at both of them, " Everything will be fine."
"Yohji-kun, if there is any. . . ." said Omi looking like he really
didn't want to leave.
" Yeah, I'll let you know now get out of here kiddo," said Yohji
grinning.
