Chapter 3: Wishful Thinking

Yohji woke up to the sound of Aya's voice desperately calling his

name. He glanced at the clock it was 4 AM.

"Aya, Aya, slow down!" He yawned lazily.

"Please help me! Ran's sick, he has a fever...I don't know what to

do!" Aya was panicking and crying.

"Its ok, come here." Yohji moved over to let Aya sit down. The blond

laid is hand across Ran's forehead.

"Its okay, its not to bad. He probably caught cold, who knows how

long he'd been in that building."

"A-Are you sure?" Aya's voice shook with fear. The thought of losing

someone he cared for again was too much.

"I'm positive, every things going to be ok." Yohji brought his arm

around Aya's shoulder and pressed his lips into his cheek. Aya closed

his eyes and held in a deep breath. In a moment, the heat was gone

and Yohji was walking across the room.

"I'll be right back, ok?" The older Weiß member smiled reassuringly.

Aya nodded. A few minutes later, Yohji returned with a small bowl and

a washcloth. He got back into bed, dipped the rag into the water and

layed it over Ran's forehead. Aya nodded at Yohji, with his approval

and rested his head on Yohji's shoulder.

"Thank God your here." The red-head spoke, softly stroking Ran's baby

fine hair.

"I'm always here, Aya. Whenever you need me." Yohji brought the

blanket up around the three of them. For a while they sat for once in

companionable silence, instead of at each other's's throats. Yohji

knew that his behavior wan't like himself lately but he couldn't help

it. Aya was just so amazing. About a half an hour later, Yohji was

almost asleep when Aya ran his hand over Ran's forehead.

"Yohji! His fever broke!" The red-head almost shouted.

"That's wonderful..." Yohji yawned, before he pulled Aya and Ran into

his arms. "This is so nice..." Yohji smiled into Aya's shoulder, then

gathered up all his courage.

"I really care about you Aya, you and Ran...." He started slowly, not

wanting to scare the beautiful red-head away." I think I might even

love-" Yohji looked down to see Aya and Ran asleep in his arms. Yohji

bent down and kissed Aya's cheek then Ran's cheek before tucking them

both into his bed.

"I don't think, I do," Yohji mumbled and closed the door behind him.

He spent the rest of the night in Aya's room.

The next morning came to fast for Aya. It took him a moment to figure

out where he was, then he remembered last night's incidents. He

absentmindedly touched his cheek.

"Where is he?" Aya wondered out loud. He looked down to see ran

cuddled up among the covers.

"Oh Ran..." Aya bent down and kissed his baby on the cheek, and

wrapped him up in the covers. He got out of bed and made his way to

his room, where he figured the honey blond had gone. Sure enough,

Yohji was laying there, the sheet draped loosely over his tan

shoulders. The sunlight hit his body giving him an almost angelic

glow. Sleeping, Yohji looked so peaceful.. Aya walked into the room

and sat down on the side of the bed. Yohji stirred and his eyes

fluttered open, Aya's head was framed in the sunlight, making his

already radiant hair glow even more, a rare soft smile on his face.

"Aya... Hows Ran?" Yohji mumbled, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

"He's fine, thanks to you." Aya reached out and let his fingers brush

across Yohji's arm.

"We make a pretty good pair, huh?" Yohji smiled nervously toying with

the sheets on the bed.

"Hai." Aya nodded in agreement. Yohji leaned forward a bit and was

about to close his lips to Aya's. His heat was pounding in his chest,

his mind was filled with thoughts of hope and dread. He was so close

that is, until a familiar voice sounded through the room.

"Momma A-ya." Ran called a little sing-song. Aya opened his arms and

Ran came running forward. The red-head scooped him up and cuddled him

close.

"I found you!" He shouted gleefully.

"Hai, little one. That you did." Aya sighed and mentally cursed.

"Hey are you guys awake?" Ken stomped up the stairs and peered into

Aya's room.

"Oh, sorry was I interrupting?" The soccer player grinned looking at

their blushing cheeks.

"Uhhhh...Whose the kid?" He crossed his arms and leaned against the

door frame.

"This is Ran, he's mine." Aya spoke up suddenly

"Aya found him on a mission, he's homeless and grew rather fond of

Aya so we brought him home." Yohji explained. The situation must have

looked pretty odd to Ken.

"Oh Aya! He's adorable!" Omi exclaimed walking into the room. Aya

begain to blush harder at all the attention he was getting, but Ran

didn't like it. He clung to the front of Aya's shirt and buried his

head into the red-heads neck.

"Its ok little one, they're friends." Aya whispered into Ran's ear.

"Momma Aya..." Ran sniffed, Ken and Omi exchanged glances.

"Hehe...well I have to go to practice, and Omi will be leaving soon

so you'll have the place to yourself." Ken winked suggestively.

"Shaddup Hidaka..." Yohji groaned burying his face in his

pillow. "Talk about your embarressing situations..." Yohji thought.

Ken just laughed as he walked down the stairs.

" I'm going to give Ran some breakfast, then we can leave." Aya

spoke, his eyes never leaving Yohji's hard muscular back. It was hard

to tear himself away but he did by some miracle.

Sometime around noon they had piled into the car, it took a bit of

coaxing to get Ran to get into the "big shiny thingy."

"Where are we going?" Ran asked, sitting in the back seat of the car.

"To the store to get you some clothes, Ran." Aya replied, glancing in

the back of the car. Ran had Yohji's sunglasses on his head. The

younger man chuckled when they fell off his head onto his face.

"Ooo-kay Momma."

Ran found the store amazing, but he was abit afraid of all the

people. They started with clothes, Aya's embarrassment was quickly

forgotten as Yohji pulled him from rack to rack picking out things

that were well, only something Yohji could like. It was an experience

Aya later described as "Fun." When they had finished Yohji pointed to

an isle.

"Omi wanted me to pick up some shampoo for him, I'll be right back."

"Ok, I'll be right here." They had stopped in front of some small

fleece blankets which Ran was playing with. This gave Aya some time

to think about the days events

"Omi and Ken have been more than wonderful with the whole child thing

and Yohji tried to kiss me again. Ran is incredibly happy here and

Yohji tried to kiss me again.." Aya licked his lips at thought of

Yohji's warm lips on his.

"Momma Momma..." Ran p lled at his sleeve, getting some odd looks

from other customers.

"Lookie Lookie!"

"Thats pretty Ran, it matches your eyes." Aya smiled at the sky blue

blanket Ran was hugging.

"I wish I could Ran but I don't have enough money today, we'll come

back, ok?" Aya ran his hand through Ran's hair. His heart breaking at

Ran's face.

"Ok." Ran put the blanket back. Aya stood up and felt Yohji's hand

take his. His heart almost stopped. Ran was looking at another shelf

across the isle. Yohji slipped something into his hand. He turned and

looked. It was a 20 dollar bill.

"Yohji I can't take this." Aya tried to shove it back.

"Aya, I know where your money goes every week. Ran deserves

something. Please, do it for me." Yohji touched Aya's cheek.

"Yohji... your so wonderful." Aya threw himself into Yohji's arms and

placed a chaste kiss on his cheek. It was Yohji's turn to blush now.

Ran sat next to the doors while Yohji and Aya checked out. A look of

disappointment still showing on his face.

"Ready Ran?" Aya held out his hand and Ran took it with his tiny

hand. Once they had gone outside and away from the crowds, Aya pulled

Ran aside.

"What is it momma?"

"This is for you, baby." Aya pulled the blanket out from the bag.

Ran's eyes went wide.

"It's from both of us." Aya looked at Yohji who smiled. Ran threw

himself into both their arms.

"Thank you momma Aya and pappa Yohji!."

"Ran, I'm not-" Yohji sighed and ruffled the boys hair, and then

thought; "But maybe someday..."
