Centre historique



Ceinturé par les fossés et quelques vestiges des fortifications, le centre historique et ses abords immédiats offrent un large panorama de I'architecture aristocratique, bourgeoise ou rurale du XVe s. à nos jours : maisons à pans de bois de la rue Illiers (XVe s.),hôtels particuliers des rues Rotrou, Parisis et St-Jean (XVIIe et XVIIIe s.), maisons de maître du bd Dubois et de l'avenue Louis Terrier (fin XIXe-début XXe s.),petites fermes du quartier du Vieux Pavé. Le patrimoine monumental, constitué de bâtiments antérieurs à la première moitié du XIXe s., offre en outre d'intéressants témoins d'architecture éclectique, comme I'ancien arsenal des pompes (1902) ou I'hôtel de la Caisse d'Epargne (1895).



Encircled with the ditches and a few remains of the fortifications, the historical centre and its immediate surroundings offer a wide panorama of the aristocratic, middle-class rural architecture from the XVth century to nowadays : Private mansions in Rotrou street, Parisis street, St Jean street, family mansions in Dubois Boulevard and Louis Terrier Avenue (end of the XIXth century, beginning of the XXth century), Small farm houses in the "Vieux Pavé " district. The monumental heritage wich is made up of buildings prior to the first half of the XIXth century offers other interesting evidences of this eclectic architecture, such as the ancient fire engine warehouse (1902) or the Saving Bank hall.



Das historische Stadtzentrum:
Eingeschlossen vom Wassergraben und den Resten der Stadtbefestigung bietet das historische Zentrum ein breites Panorama aristokratischer, bürgerlicher und ländlicher Architektur vom 15. Jahrhundert an bis zur heutigen Zeit : Fachwerkhäuser in der rue Illiers (15. Jh.) Bürgerhäuser in den Straßen rue Rotrou, rue Parisis und rue St-Jean (17. und 18. Jh.) sowie boulevard Dubois (Ende 19. Jh.) und avenue Louis Terrier (Anfang 20. Jh.) kleine Bauernhäuser im Viertel Vieux Pavé. Neben dem reichen Erbe an Gebäuden, die vor der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts errichtet wurden, finden sich in Dreux auch interessante Mischungen verschiedener architektonischer Stilrichtungen, wie z. B. das alte Spritzenhaus "arsenal des pompes" (1902) oder die Sparkasse "Caisse d'Epargne" (1895).
