David has decided to be a worldwide ambassador for the International Red Cross Campaign against anti-personnel landmines, stepping into the shoes of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
He
won't only be a figurehead, but a catalyst to get other footballers
involved.
Lady
Diana knew that it was her following that helped the campaign and Ginola
realises this as well, but he also wants to get other footballers and football
organisations involved.
Football
is used a lot in the rehabilitation centres for landmine victims and UEFA
has also been involved in this campaign, so a footballer is an ideal spokesman
for the campaign.
