Miss Hong Kong Pageant 1993 In 1993, Kenix's friends advised her to try out for Miss HK. Since Kenix is a brave woman, she decided to give it a try, and entered as contestant #13. Once she entered, TVB (Televistion Broadcasting Ltd.) split 10 contestants into a group. These contestants, along with a singer, went to another country to do a music video. Kenix was split into the group of the most pretty contestants. The group, which also consisted of Mariane Chan Miu-Ying, was lead by Andy Hui Chi-On, left for Egypt. Andy commented that Kenix was the most brave and active contestant amongst the group. He also commented that she had good acting potential.

When they went back to HK for the semi-final of Miss HK, Kenix won 3 awards in one night. She was granted as "Miss Photogenic 1993"; "Contestant With Best Acting Potential"; and "The Most Friendly Contestant". Kenix was so bright that night, everyone paid attention to her. Naturally, she was one of the 20 final contestants. Kenix's face appeared on many newspapers, magazines, etc. The cameras were shooting towards her at all times! On the night of the final round of the competition of the Miss HK title, the stage was very beautifully designed, and so was Kenix. After the performance of the popular singers, the audience began to think that Kenix was a natural at show-biz.

Many people believed, next to Marian Chan Miu-Ying (who was also a model), that Kenix was the one with the most points, and the one who will win the crown. They also believed that Mok Hoi-Yan would come in third. However, the results came out very unfairly. Both Kenix and Mariane did go into the finals, with 6 contestants left. However, when the judges announced the names of the 3 winners, it came to a surprise to everyone that they didn't hear the names "Kwok Ho-Ying", or "Chan Miu-Ying". Mok Hoi-Yan took first place. Second went to Lam Lai-Mei, and third went to Tsui Siu-Po.

Entering Show-Biz Do you think that Kenix would fade away from the Entertainment Circle, and Mok Hoi-Yan would rise? Kenix signed with TVB a week after the finals of the Miss HK pageant. TVB assigned her the role of "Lam Sing" in a series called "Wong Po King Ching" - Rememberance. This series starred Julian Cheung Chi-Lam, and Kenix. Kenix packed her belongings along with the other casts to go to Shanghai to film. This started her acting career! After the release of the series, many people were surprised at how good Kenix was at acting. No only that, she and Julian matched very well! After "Rememberance", her next assignment was to film "Yi Cai Hung Ching" with Canti Lau Sek-Ming and Ada Choi Siu-Fun. Although this was not as good as "Rememberance", acting in this series helped her practice her acting skills.

Beginning to Rise... In fall of 1994, Kenix starred in a series called "Detective Investigation Files" with Michael Tao Dai-Yu, and Joey Leung Wing-Chung. Even though TVB placed Kenix as the 8th out of the Top 10 Female Artists, her career was already beginning to rise. The audienced loved "Detective Investigation Files", and began to recognize Kenix. Another series with Felix Wong Yat-Wah helped Kenix rise even more. This series was called "O Gei Sat Luk" - "Criminal Investigations".

Kenix - In Love? In mid-1995, Kenix starred in a sit-com called "Zhen Qing" - "Kindered Spirits". Like the other TV series she starred in, this one was quite successful. Kenix met Frankie Lam Man-Lung when working with him in "Man Nei Cheung Ching". "Man Nei..." was not a very good series because it was not realistic at all. However, the audience loved to watch this series because the cast was good! Kenix and Michelle Mai Suet captured people's hearts with their performance (Kenix played a bride that was ordered, however her husband-to-be died, and she fell in love with Frankie). Kenix and Frankie paired very well in the series. From the part when the met, to the part when they broke apart, it was very emotional. This brought the thought to the audince that Franke and Kenix are a very good couple. At first, Kenix commented that Frankie was a nice guy, but she didn't like the way he dressed himself (after all, Frankie was a well-known actor). Kenix felt that Frankie should dress up a bit more instead of wearing a T-shirt and a pair of jeans all the time. Nothing happened between the two until one day, someone saw Kenix and Frankie hand-in-hand walking along the beach. They finally admitted that they were dating.

After a Year of Dating A year later, Kenix was interviewed and asked about her love life. Kenix told the media that she thinks of Frankie as the boyfriend she's ever had, and, unlike the other 3 she'd dated before, Frankie cared deeply about her, her family, and his family. Although Frankie is sometimes very quiet, his quietness makes other people feel comfortable being around him. Reporters asked Kenix what she thinks of Frankie's way of dressing now, and she said that she is glad that she is able to help him change his image. She isn't Frankie's mom, but she cares for him very much. Frankie said that he doesn't like other people controlling his life, but when Kenix "controls" his life, he feels very comfortable because he knows that Kenix isn't literally "controlling" his life, but making him look better instead. Kenix and Frankie are both mature people, and care for each other very much, making them one of the cutest couples in the HK Entertainment Circle.

Gigi was Frankie's girlfriend before Kenix came along. This is one of the main reasons Kenix doesn't get along with Gigi well. Although Frankie still talks to Gigi as a friend, the three don't feel comfortable being together. Although Frankie, Kenix, or Gigi didn't say so, their actions show what they are thinking.

Once, Gigi wanted to park her car in a shaded area of the TVB parking lot, while Kenix, at the same time, wanted to park in the shaded area also. Some people said that they heard a verbal fight between the two, but luckily, they are both nice people, the both of them walked away.

In the sequel of "Criminal Investigations", Kenix was surprised when the director announced Gigi as being one of the new stars. While working on the series, Felix came to talk to the two because he knew the story between them and didn't want any conflicts while working together.

A few days later, many people found that Gigi and Kenix seemed to be more friendly. They said hello to each other, had lunch together, chatted together, etc. Reporters asked the two if they were still fighting, and Kenix told them that it wasn't a fight; only a misunderstanding.

Gigi said it was ridiculous how she got mad a Kenix for no reason. Kenix thought that Gigi was mad at her, while Gigi thought Kenix was mad at her. Even though the two aren't best friends, everything is OK between them now.
