Q. How happy are you with your game today?
A. It's always good to have the first round over behind you and I feel like I was not playing that bad for the first match on grass court this year and just first match on Court 1 Wimbledon, but she is playing very well and it is always hard to play a qualifier because they are used to the grass, they are used to - they play another couple of matches and for me, I think I played pretty good and she was a hard opponent.

Q. How did you like playing on Court 1?
A. It was great, it was almost packed and it was a great atmosphere on there.

Q. Compared with the Centre Court?
A. I did not play too many matches on Centre Court, I played only Steffi and that did not work out that great all the time, but the last year's finals of doubles we played there and I also have a good experience, but it is a good start on Court 1 now.

Q. Martina, how are you holding up with the rest you had since the French Open?
A. It is doing better and better after every day and I have been riding again, so that is already good thing, I could do again and we will see. On grass it's just the movement is always a little different and on these surfaces and I feel pretty good in today's match, so we will see in the previous matches.

Q. Is there pressure because you're now - you're number 1 going into the match?
A. It does not matter, I mean, it was the same thing happening to me at the other tournaments too and especially in Paris, I just came back after surgery and I knew I was not a hundred per cent but I made it to the finals and I was very happy about that, and just at Wimbledon it is very special, you know. You cannot say this or this player will win because so different from the other ones.

Q. You didn't appear to have too many breaks in the match, how would you comment with this situation?
A. I do not say that's a women's match. I mean, my returns usually are much better than my serve, but I do not think I served that bad, she just played really smart in my - my what I had waited around, you know, you feel always a little under pressure if you do not serve well or something. She has obviously done a return back and I did not know what to do exactly because I always had the chance to make the point but I didn't make it and we'd just been running from one to the other corner all the time and I think it was a very good match for a spectator and it was close and it was a good start for me, I think.

Q. It was tougher than you expected?
A. Kind of, you could say. I mean, she was playing very good, she has been running well and serving also. When she was leading 4-3 in the first set she made 3 double faults the set, it was like "Thank God", but I mean, otherwise she was playing very well. She only played eight matches, I just heard, this year, so I think she could be much better than she really is, no one just really knows how good she could be, but I know her pretty well from junior tournaments, ones like four years ago, that was my first tournament till 18, and I lost from 2 match points, so I had a little trouble in today's match to finish up.

Q. Are you confident after this game that you can go all the way and win the tournament?
A. As I just said, it is always great to have your first round behind you and you always feel confident because you try to keep going and now I'm going to meet Kournikova I never played her, but I also think I have a pretty good chance there.

Q. Any point in the match when you thought you were seriously under threat?
A. In today's match? Not really, because I knew she was leading in the beginning, but I thought I'm not playing my best, so may improve if it's going to be very dangerous or - but. It was not too easy for a first match, no.

Q. Martina, you looked as if you lost some weight since the French Open?
A. Did I?

Q. There are some unfair stories written in the Tele newspapers after the French Open saying you put on weight. What was your reaction to that, does that upset you at all?
A. I did not read that stuff, so I don't know, I did not hear about it.

Q. Have you changed your game for the grass?
A. No, it's just in today's match I think I could be even more aggressive than I was, because I had my chances, I went to the net a couple of times, but maybe next time if I'm going to be leading a little bit more, so you feel much more confident to step in, but today I just tried to get into the game and hit some ground strokes but sometimes it helps you to go in and step forward.

Q. You said you have been riding again. Have you been riding here in England or ...
A. No, at home.

Q. Did you go home in between the tournaments and you were riding?
A. Yes, I had two weeks off so I have been at home and also in the Czech Republic and, yes, that was great, you know. It was relaxing and ... it was fun. I did not have to think about tennis too much, so...

Q. Did you have any worries when you got back on the horse or was it just good to be doing it again?
A. It was a great feeling to be doing it again and maybe if I'm going to be still on the tournament next Sunday I'm going to go here to the Wimbledon village, I have went there every year, so we will see.
