| Our History The MSQR created itself under the impulse of several eminent personalities of the political and universitary world of Quebec at the beginning of the 1990-s, immediately after the Romanian Revolution of 1989. Its initial aim was to provide the Romanian populations with medical equipment and technical publications. During its first years of existence the MSQR, thanks to the donations obtained, recovered Canadian medical equipment, technical and didactic publications and shipped them to Romania. In 1993 the MSQR modified its charter in order to help Romanians recently immigrated to Quebec to rapidly get acquainted with Canadian laws and institutions as well as local living conditions in order to ease on their integration in their adoptive country. Between 1994-1996 the MSQR continued and diversified its activities. Since 1997, the MSQR concentrated its charity actions by forwarding drugs and assistance to Romanian children suffering of leukemia, while in Quebec it had to face a considerably increased number of Romanian immigrants and their increased needs. |
