Earlier this week we reported that Julia Roberts had agreed to do a guest spot on the hour-long Friends special that will air after the Super Bowl. We now hear that Julia, who apparently loves the show, will not be playing her lovely self in the January 28 episode. Instead, she'll play a hair-makeup specialist--and a childhood friend of Chandler's (Matthew Perry)--who happens to be working on a movie set that the Friends friends visit. Since Julia said yes fairly late in the game, the Super Bowl episode has already been taped, which means the Friends cast and crew will now have to snip some footage from the original, shoot the Julia scenes, and paste them in. A small inconvenience for such a big coup.
