08/12/98: CC The Beautician.

Recently when Courteney Cox did makeovers for three women in an American magazine she revealed that "Two of the girls loved what I did for them, while one of the girls couldn't stop crying after I dyed her bleached hair brown!" The girl obviously wasn't crying tears of joy. "She hated what I did for her, so I offered to pay for her hair for the rest of her life- anything to stop her being upset." At least two out of three like what she did. Maybe CeCe should stick to acting.

08/12/98: FRIENDS To The Millenium.

The cast of FRIENDS have reportedly signed a contract that will take the show through to 2002 and the next millenium. This means we have three more season once the current season is over. They apparently signed the deal when negotiations with NBC executives worked out and they agreed to give each cast member a pay rise! Things that may belooked at in the coming seasons are Ross & Rach getting back together, Chan & Mon getting married or sadly, according to The-Friends-Website, Monica getting cancer. I know like me, you're all looking forward to the millenium because you know FRIENDS will still be there!

Congratulations to Courteney Cox who has recently become engaged to boyfriend David Arquette! Another congrats is in order for the cast. They have now gone over the 100 mark in episodes! Some news about Jennifer, she is featured in the new Teen People. A nice spread about her fashion. Also, a bit of poopy news, Jennifer's new movies have been pushed to early 1999, which is disapointing.

31/07/98: Birthday.

Happy Birthday to both Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow! Jennifer is currently involved with VH1's Save The Music. Jennifer also participated in Pediatric Aids Foundation, like she did three years ago with Matthew, Lisa, and Courteney.

16/07/98: Aniston's biceps.

Jennifer Aniston, who once appeared in the buff on the cover of Rolling Stone, is now garnering attention for her buff biceps. Indeed, Shape magazine says a new trend is taking shape among Hollywood women: Getting in touch -- and in tone -- with your inner arm muscles. Among the best-armed Hollywood heroines, according to the magazine: Aniston, Minnie Driver, Jada Pinkett Smith, Madonna and, of course, "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" star Angela Bassett, whose turn as a totally toned Tina Turner in "What's Love Got to Do With It" earned her a reputation as one of the most fit females in the biz.

09/07/98: Aniston: a fan of horror.

Jennifer went to the premiere of Jaime Lee Curtis' H20. Looks like Jennifer is a fan of those horror movies. Who blames her? They are a riot.

01/07/98: Pitt and Aniston Get Friendly.

By Gerard McGovern in London, England with help from Mr Showbiz

Memo to Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston: Denial isn't just a river in Egypt. Over the past few months, the hunky Seven Years in Tibet star and blond-maned Friends actress have maintained an official party line that they're simply "friends," although most pals we know don't swap spit in public.

The New York Daily News reports that last Saturday, the cutely coiffed non-couple were locking lips in full view of the guests at the Los Angeles wedding of Veronica's Closet star Kathy Najimy and actor Dan Finnerty.

"They were kissing in front of everybody," one insider tells the paper. "It was the talk of the wedding."

The News says precautions were taken to protect the privacy of the toothy twosome, including asking guests not to take pictures and putting in two security checkpoints. Besides the smooch, highlights of the wedding included Melissa Etheridge, who sang "Ave Maria."

Pitt, 34, and Aniston, 29, haven't exactly been trying to keep a lid on their percolating romance. In June, a paparazzo caught the pair nuzzling at the Tibetan Freedom concert in Washington, D.C.

28/05/98: Jennifer on Entertainment Tonight.

Tonight, Jennifer Aniston was on Entertainment Tonight. Here is a little summary of what was said. 'Till There was You, is opening tomorrow. Jennifer plays a shrink, who has a husband who won't come out of his car. In some scenes, she sported these extensions in her hair. It mentioned how Jennifer is currently single, but is dating Tate Donovan. She looked pretty happy on the set wearing this huge wedding ring which she mentioned she wouldn't mind wearing in real life. Another thing was that she doesn't really have a life anymore.

28/05/98: Casting call: Kudrow.

The Hollywood trades report that the Friends actress is set to star in Analyze This, which is currently shooting in New York. The Harold Ramis-directed comedy stars Billy Crystal as a psychiatrist helping a mobster, played by Robert De Niro, work through his problems. Kudrow, who is currently appearing on screen in The Opposite of Sex, will reportedly play Crystal's love interest.

28/05/98: Is Jennifer Aniston Dating Brad Pitt?

By Gerard McGovern in London, England with help from Mr Showbiz.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are apparently dating. The star of Seven Years in Tibet, who hasn't found a special someone since breaking up with Gwyneth Paltrow last year, is reportedly dating the Friends star, who recently ended her relationship with the voice of Hercules, Tate Donovan. According to the Dallas Morning News, Pitt recently visited Aniston in Austin, Texas, where the actress is on location shooting the comedy Office Space, the directorial debut of Beavis and Butt-head creator Mike Judge. The paper says that the impossibly pretty pair was spied cozying up at the Four Seasons Hotel. "They looked pretty friendly," said a witness. "They looked very together. They were holding hands." Reps for Pitt and Aniston say the two are just, you guessed it, friends.

21/05/98: Something Wicked.

Friendly Jennifer Aniston will soil her good-girl image in Something Wicked. Aniston portrays an amoral high-powered executive whose life is cut short when a competitor shoves her in front of a bus. Caught in limbo, she begs her way back to Earth for a second life.

The script is "Something Wicked," in which a calculating and ruthless female exec gets killed by a bus, pushed by a co-worker she was blackmailing. The hell-bound woman charms her way into a second chance on the planet to right her life. She comes back in the form of Aniston. Originally bent on revenge against the co-worker, she instead discovers the downside of her bitchy past. "My favorite movie has always been 'Heaven Can Wait' and I was looking for a certain kind of script as an executive that I wasn't finding," said Kochoff. "I worked out an outline and thought, why not give it a shot. I figured it would be terrible and no one would see it." She showed it to producer Adam Gibgot, who worked to develop it with her. They enlisted Endeavor, which responded when the script was sent out under the pseudonym Francine Kelly. Then Gibgot and Davis, who'll produce, took it to Fox. The studio was looking for an Aniston vehicle following the hit "The Object of My Affection," and closed a deal quickly. Aniston will exec produce, and it could be her next film. Kochoff will keep her day job, but the next time she doesn't get the kind of project that tickles her fancy, who knows? CAA and 3 Arts' Molly Madden represent Aniston.

28/04/98: Helen Baxendale falls out with the Friends.

By Gerard McGovern in London, England with help from The Mirror.

Helen Baxendale's Hollywood hopes were a broken dream last night after an astonishing row with a furious Friends boss. The seething American executive lashed into the shocked British beauty as a crucial scene went disastrously wrong.

Insiders suspect that it could spell the end of outsider Helen's short-lived Friends career. Her hell unfolded as she tried to capture a heart-rending moment on film featuring TV husband-to-be Ross, played by David Schwimmer. The anguished actress just couldn't get the magic right - and executives ordered her to do the scene again. And again and again! It took an excruciating SEVEN times before they were satisfied. The nightmare emerged during the making of the headline-hitting London episode, which the top Los Angeles-based sitcom team flew to Britain to complete.

As Ross led Helen's character Emily into a church which he had spent hours decorating with hundreds of twinkling fairy lights, she was supposed to gasp with emotion and amazement.

But after five failed efforts, executive producer Marta Kauffman exploded in anger, stomped across the studio stage and beckoned Baxendale to follow her.

"Come with me," she snapped. "I want to talk to you."

An audience of 300 fans who had won a TV competition to watch their favourite sitcom in the making looked on in astonishment as the two walked off into the wings.

Then, in a real-life drama that only a few of the crew witnessed, Kauffman ripped into the Yorkshire-born star in a fit of controlled rage, shouting: "For God's sake, will you get it right!"

Helen, 29, looked pale and shaken as she replied: "I am trying, you know."

The bust-up brought to a climax a 10-day session in which staff saw just how hard Helen found it to fit in with the Americans - who were definitely NOT her friends.

On their trip to London, Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston proved what a close-knit group of pals they really are.

A crew member reveals: "They all shared a big communal dressing-room. The only member of the main cast who had their own dressing-room was Helen.

"And while the Americans sat around chatting or went off to their room together, Helen would walk off on her own, looking forlorn and lonely. She usually looked pretty miserable.

"The scene which went badly wrong was only a short scene - less than a minute. Marta is a formidable woman. Helen was white as a sheet when she ripped into her."

Only last week, Helen made it clear that landing one of the most sought-after roles in Tinseltown was not quite the dream ticket it seemed.

While the US stars earn £60,000 an episode, her deal adds up to a more modest £3,000 a week.

In Los Angeles, she ended up out of pocket after being forced to pay American tax, her agent, her manager - and even her own hotel bill.

And Helen said of Aniston, Cox, Schwimmer and the gang: "They're really close. It's quite hard to break into that inner circle."

A Friends source says: "Helen is a very talented actress, but there was no chemistry between her and the American cast. She was clearly having a tough time keeping up with them.

"Marta was always in huddles with director Kevin Bright, and neither of them looked pleased. Everyone could see Helen was not enjoying herself."

"It's pretty clear that Emily will be out of the picture - and so will Helen."

28/04/98: Friends to probably get new time slot in USA.

by Gerard McGovern in London, England with help from ABC News.

With only four new Seinfeld episodes left to air, the race is on to see which sitcom will win Jerry and the gang's coveted must-see Thursday at 9:00 p.m. timeslot. And according to USA Today, one show is pulling ahead of the comedy pack. Several industry analysts and ad buyers tell the paper that Friends is the leading contender to take over the soon-to-be-vacant position, thanks to Rachel and the gang's steady ratings and continued creative growth. NBC won't reveal what it has planned for Seinfeld's slot until May 18, when the network releases its entire fall schedule.

Besides Friends, NBC Entertainment President Warren Littlefield has said that he considers four other shows contenders for the position: Frasier, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Mad About You, and Just Shoot Me. USA Today does a rundown on each: Frasier, it says, would be the best choice, but moving the show would ruin the peacock network's strong Tuesday-night lineup; 3rd Rock has taken too big a dive in the ratings since moving from Sunday to Wednesday, and is not strong enough for the slot; Mad About You will be gone after next season, so it won't gain anything from Thursday-night exposure; and Just Shoot Me, despite its strong performance in the post-Friends position, may not be ready for the 9:00 p.m. spot, although the paper says the series will likely end up with another time on Thursday night.

By Gerard McGovern in London, England.
