Italian Championship
What a great game for goals : there were many for teams playing away.
Milan won again and scored 5 goals again.
After AS Roma, last week, Lazio has won his first game : away with
4 goals scoed ! In the runner's up game between Sampdoria and Napoli, Napoli
took the best and now is the only runner up 1 point behind Milan AC.

for Lazio : Fuser(38', 40'), Jugovic(69'), Nedved(85')
I do not believe this ! Juventus had to face a great tactician in the
person of the Lazio manager. The tactic used against Juventus was really
a great one since he had put a wonderful defensive player Nedved against
Zidane or Del Piero depending on the time. And Nedved did a great game
breaking all Juventus attacks at the beginning. Lazio changed of manager
last week with success. But I'm sure Juventus will come back next game.
AS ROMA

AC
for Milan : Davids(18', 67', 95'), Albertini(32'), Ba (82')
For Milan AC, days come and go and looks the same. Last week, Weah
was wonderful, doing everything on the field, and today Edgar Davids was
the only one on the field, no roman players being able to stop him. He
was asked to shoot a free-kick and score it, he also scored a head... And
if the Roma had won his first game last week, this week was a poor one,
but once again Tomasi was good.
SAMPDORIA 1-3
NAPOLI
for Sampdoria : Veron(73')
for Napoli : Scarlato(15'), Calderon(63'), Ayala(87')
This game was a game against two of the best scorers of the league
: Veron against Calderon. They both scored, but even if Calderon missed
a penalty at the beginning, Napoli was the best team here and logically
won.
Napoli seems to have a wonderful team with lots of talentfull players
and today we discovered a new scorer Scarlato.
In the standings, Napoli kicks Sampdoria from the second place but
I'm sure Sampdoria will come back soon.
BOLOGNA
0-4 PARMA
for Parma : Chiesa(6', 62'), Sensini(25'), Adailton(66')
For Bologna, days pass by and do not look the same. They won 5-0 last
week and today lost 0-4 !
How can that be ? In fact for me they faced a solid team who had much
luck and seriousness for itself. I'm sure Bologna should have scored if
Roberto Baggio had been more successful but this day was one without for
Bologna.
I said before that Adailton was a wonderful young attacker, and I still
think he is, even if he was not as good as Chiesa, he was there and scored.
French Championship
I said they will win and they did it : Lyon won his first game but scoring "only" twice ! (they had only scored once in 3 games) Auxerre stopped Metz on its winning way allowing Nantes who won again to come back and reach Metz. During this day, I did not see much goals except in Bordeaux where Nantes was playing. My favourite team, Monaco, came back from Paris with a good draw but could not score as much as usually.

Auxerre does not seem to be able to win home against the best teams.
Without that they can not dream about winning the league. But I do not
think they could have done much more. During the first half, Metz was everywhere
and should have scored more. Then Guivarch missed an easy penalty. Hopefully
Gamboa the new auxerrian recruit did a great game, scoring near the end
of the game. Metz has not won but showed his usual winning side. Against
them Auxerre has done the great game that was needed against such a team.
BORDEAUX

for Bordeaux : Musampa(51')
for Nantes : Gourvennec(19'), Savinaud(67'), Ferri(74'), Gourvennec(92')
This game was very tied until the goal scored by Savinaud. Bordeaux,
like Auxerre, did a great game against one of the best teams of the league.
After the first goal, they did a great game and came back to score, then
thanks to the impulsion of the talentful player Savinaud, they were flooded
and let it go, allowing Nantes to score three times in 25 minutes. In this
game, Gourvennec, the best scorer of the league, was the best player on
Nantes side.
LENS

GUINGAMP
In this game, despite the number of goals scored, there were many occasions
on each sides, mainly for Lens on free-kicks but they have not a free-kicker
like Gourvennec in Nantes and did not score them. Again, after their first
game, Guingamp seems to want to play very defensive to avoid loosing again
stupidily.
LYON
2-0
MARSEILLE
for Lyon : Giuly(66'), Delmotte(72')
This game was in fact very tied and both teams had many occasions to
score, but Nadon was in a great shape avoiding everything from Marseille
and allwoing his team to win his first game in this league.
Actuality of the League
This has been a very busy league concerning transfers. At this time
the greatest transfer should be Brian Laudrup (around 170M) or Edmundo
(around 185M). These are the most wanted players and the teams wanting
them still do great offers.
Fernando Caceres has signed in Napoli for 55M for 3 years and a salary
of 55.
Bebeto should sign in the following hours (except a better offer is
made) to Auxerre for 80M.
So should Joachim Bjorklund do to Lyon for 55M.
Vitor should go to Monaco for 40M.
Lazio Roma has engaged a new manager since the last one was depleased
with the team and this new manager did great by winning in Stadio delle
Alpi of Juventus. (look at the interview later)
I have been told that 2 players had got offers for them : Trezeguet
(playing in Monaco) and Kanu (playing in Inter Milan). The sources of these
informations did not want to be known and did not know (or want to tell
me) from which teams those offers were made.
What a strange story than these of Zvonimir Boban. He was not playing
in Milan since the beginning and his manager let him know that he was not
wanted anymore by his team. He should have gone to AS Roma for nothing.
Then his manager thought about setting and advert about him. And now Roma
seems ready for 70M for him.

In Italy, there's first the roman derby.Both teams will want to win for honour and for points since both roman teams are far behind concerning league standings. Then Parma - Milan AC should be great : the third against the first. Both teams need to win and want to for the league's heading. Sampdoria wants to come back and win again Inter who has won his last game and still has something to say concerning the standings. Napoli should score many goals against Bologna.
French Championship : DAY 29
PARIS-SG - LENS
MARSEILLE - AUXERRE
MONACO - BORDEAUX
NANTES - METZ
LYON - GUINGAMP
One game should take all attention from everywhere : Nantes against
Metz. They are 1st and 2nd and 5 points ahead of everyone else in this
league. Therefore the winner will have 3 points of advance on the 2nd.
This is the top game of the league and the winner might take a good option
on final victory since those teams are playing great since the beginning.
All other games will be interesting too since even Monaco (last with
2 points) is only 3 points far from the 3rd place.
Interview : F.F. Sarkis manager of Lazio Roma
Reporter : You are the newest manager of the italian league, and
before you coming Lazio had lost its three games, then you come and win
away in Juventus 4-0. How did you do that ?
F.F. Sarkis : The problem with Lazio was that they were poorly managed
the first three games, they've got players skilled in every position(Fuser,Nesta,Signori...),
so all this team needed was a good tactic. Seeing that they have a very
good attack I opted for the 4-3-3 formation, I didn't expect it to turn
out so well, but it did and I'm really pleased with that.
Reporter : Do you wish to buy new players in the transfer market
? Which ones ?
F.F. Sarkis : Unfortunately the club is currently on a low budget,
so I'll have to maintain economical balance first, and maybe go for less
expensive players.Marcio Santos looks good, I think I'll make him an offer.
Astrada and Sevchenko also look like good buys.
Reporter : What are your favourite player(s) in your team, the one(s)
that will play all season ?
F.F. Sarkis : Nedved has proven to be an excellent player, he had an
excellent game in all areas, Fuser and Marchegiani will be sure starters
for all the season.On the other hand in the attack i'd go for Signori,
and Mancini/Rambaudi/Casiraghi/Boksic would have to compete for their place
in the squad. As for the defence, I'm still waiting for Nesta to come back
from suspension.
Reporter :What are your ambitions for this year ?
F.F. Sarkis : Lazio were last in the league, so first we'll try to
occupy a place among the top five.We might have a go at the league, but
it's still a long way ahead of us.
Reporter : I interviewed you also for next game : the derby against
the Roma.What are your pronostic for this game and for the whole league
?
F.F. Sarkis : Things aren't going to well for Roma at the moment especially
after losing to Milan 5-0.They're just behind us in the league which makes
the match even more exciting, both of us need the points to advance further
in the league, and I hope it'll be a game filled with goals.I'll be pleased
with a 2-1 victory, but the Roma manager might have other ideas.
As for the league, I think there's going to be very tight competition,
you can't count out any teams , but Milan still has the advantage. Still
a lot of games left to decide.
