WARNING

First, warm thanks to Greg A. Grove, Ph.D.who has drawn up the norms of the Beta version of the 916

Thanks too to the following persons  for their remarks and suggestions

Obviously, thanks too to all the test takers

Greg made the calculus on the raw (expected answers) and on the relative (non expected but pertinent answers) scores. I intended to post norms for relative score only, but it appears that norms based on raw score are more accurate and significative with regard to the IQ of the test takers and the consistence of the items, which is excellent; the instability of some items has been corrected by some precisions in the Warning of the 916 test; except few items, it appears that the entire test is highly satured in g factor.

Nevertheless, actual norming remains an approximation, even if a good one!

The following data have to be made relative but they give a good idea of the difficulty of the test

despite of his apparent simplicity.

My apologize for my approximate English

Two boards:

 -the first one with RAW (my answers)  and RELATIVE (non expected but pertinent answers) SCORES and IQ of the most part of the test takers in Deviation 16.

-the second board with the Number of test takers who have solved an item  with the expected answer and the Number of test takers who have solved an item with non expected but pertinent answer and the total in the last colon.

Before I post the test, the following items had been submitted to more than 2000 persons (my students; average IQ around 100)

C7    has been solved by about 20 persons only

C8    has been solved by about 200 persons

C11    has been solved by about 20 persons only

C13    has been solved by 2 persons only

C14    has been solved by 1 persons only

C15    has been solved by 1 persons only (his apparent instability in the 916 will easily corrected by adding one number)

The consistence of the items is excellent despite of the instability of some of them; but except A7 and C4 which are bad items as it appears in board 2, the light instability of the others has been corrected by precisions in the Warning of the 916.

Norms for expected answers

(comments by Greg A.Grove)

1)  To norm the test I removed all the test results that didn't have IQ

scores provided, plus persons 3 and 9 because of extreme scores.

2)  This resulted in a norming population of 16.

N = 16 persons

Mean raw  = 13.50   Median = 13.0   Mode = 10.0

Mean SD = 4.02

Variance = 16.13

Skew = .60

Kurtosis = 2.20

Mean IQ = 143.3 Median IQ = 144.5       Mode IQ = 150

Mean SD = 10.6

Here is how various High IQ clubs did on the test:

916 mean IQ = 136.6

Mysterium mean IQ = 140.3

916 mean IQ = 138.8

Mensa mean IQ = 135.0

916 mean IQ = 141.2

Cerebrals mean IQ = 144.8

916 mean IQ = 152.0

Glia mean IQ = 153.3

Overall means:

N = 13

916 mean IQ = 142.5

HIQ clubs mean IQ = 143.2

The correlation between the 916 and 13 members

of the above High IQ clubs = r .982

The internal consistency of the items in the 916 exam is r = .986

My work with the two scoring systems, the raw scores (based on your answers)

and the pertinent scores (based on nearly correct or different but

plausible?), showed the raw scores to be the better of the two.  There is

approximately a 3 point difference between the raw average and the pertinent

average.  A few individuals made tremendous gain toward healthier scores on

the pertinent, but when correlated with IQs, the difference between the raw

vs. IQ and pertinent vs. IQ was .50 vs. .54.  Not significant.

The raw scores correlate .98 with Mensa IQ scores.  That is remarkable!

Norms for pertinent answers

(comments by Greg A. Grove)

Use Raw Scores for this set of data.  I took the four groups (Mysterium,

Mensa, Cerebrals, and Glia) and used them only to generate the following.

The results are impressive and may well be the most accurate when providing

insight into the high IQ society's performance on the 916.  From prior

studies with the High IQ membership, the average IQ is 139, as testified as

well by Dr. Ron Hoeflin's Mega norms and average.

N = 14

Mean raw = 13.75

Median raw = 13.50

SD = 3.3

Variance = 10.92

SEM = 1.65

Skewness = .25

Kurtosis = 1.96

Mean IQ = 143.25

Median IQ = 144.5

For the norms table, raw vs. IQ correlated .952.
