This summer see Abu Dhabi host the first ever major Picasso exhibition in the Middle East.
Running from May 27 to September 4, the retrospective Picasso Abu Dhabi, Masterpieces from the Museé National Picasso, Paris will be shown in Gallery One of the Emirates Palace.
The exhibition will feature an exceptional selection of works by Pablo Picasso, spanning all periods and styles in the career of the 20th century’s signature artist.
The exhibition is drawn exclusively from the singularly important holding of the Museé National Picasso, Paris, which came directly from the artist’s studios. A total of 183 works will be shown – including paintings, sculptures and works on paper. The exhibition layout also includes a multi media room which utilizes film, photographic and audio collateral from the museum’s incomparable Picasso Archives.

Rare Sri Lankan idol recovered

Police Officials from Tamilnadu say a rare idol of lord Muruga from Sri Lanka has been seized from an individual in the Namakkal district.
The statue is from Katharagama in the south of Sri Lanka as confirmed by the police.
The police also say that Archaeological experts have confirmed the idol to be 300 years old and made of 'panchalogam' ( a combination of five metals viz., gold, silver, copper, zinc and lead) and is priceless. (BBC)
