The Great White Shark in Mediterranean Sea:

And yes, that please you or not, the great white shark isa follower of the coast in the Mediterranean Sea        (occasionally, it goes even further in the Atlantic Sea until La Rochelle).

Some specimens were photographed in the Adriatic Sea (between Italia and ex. Yugoslavia),

Off Sardinia

and finilly off Piombino in Italia.

The unofficial record of the biggest "Great White Shark" was fished off the Island of Malta (just below the Sisily) was a female shark with a measurement of 7,13 meters. At present the biggest fished and recognized as "great white shark" officially is a female shark of 6,20 meters with a weight of 3,5 tons.

Someone have noticed that the "great white shark" that have been seen in the Mediterranean Sea have more brown color than grey on the back which is contrary with their congeners from Australia. It's made us think that they are Mediterranean resident and not just passage. Some scientists think that the great white shark can get tanned.

A few attacks have been recorded since 1855, only 2 officially happened in France and 7 in Italy.
