Pairings: Yohji x Aya
Inner Trinity (1/?)
By: Max Ikari
" I need a shower" said Aya quietly and almost dragged himself to
climb the steps to his room. Weiss had kept on living together after
their life and death battle with Schwartz. Aya-chan had woken up and
was going on with her life from what he happened to find out now and
then. But he still kept on killing. Why? He had no idea but he knew
he was tired of it. They had gotten a run down building and renovated
it to live there; missions were very few now that they could almost
live normal lives. Omi was finishing High School, Ken was an
assistant P.E instructor in the local elementary, Yohji was still
trying to figure out what to do, and as for him he took some college
classes now and then but nothing very concrete. They were all going
on with their lives but it seemed that for him it was only worse. The
happier people became around him, the more he retreated into his
shell. Was he bound to be unhappy all his life? Maybe that was his
fate. He suffered so others could live their life in peace, not as he
had done. He was stained with more blood than he cared to remember, no
use in more people becoming like him. However, he had been so tired
lately, not being able to keep awake at work, breakfast, or any other
occupation for that matter. They had just arrived from a mission and
he hoped nobody had noticed his screw up. He had almost gotten
killed, he hadn't been able to focus and had blacked out for a minute
or so and next thing he knows a guy is pointing a gun at him.
Hopefully nobody noticed.
He reached his room dropping his katana on the floor and begun the
tedious process of getting rid of his assassin gear, when there was a
slight knock at his door.
" Aya you in there?" It was Yohji. Aya didn't feel like talking to
him right now, but nonetheless answered the door.
" What do you want Yohji?" asked Aya opening the door and trying to
sound very exasperated. " I am about to take a shower."
" We need to talk," said Yohji entering the room and sitting in his
bed showing no indication of leaving any time soon.
" Yohji. . ." said Aya, Yohji was really trying his patience. He was
tired, dirty, and nonetheless standing in his boxers in front of the
playboy. He tried not to show how much this actually bothered him.
" Aya, I know is none of my business but ever since Aya-chan woke up
you have been acting very weird." said Yohji.
So they had noticed, trying not to show his uncomfort Aya schooled his
features so as to make Yohji believe he was glaring at him.
" Yes you are right, is none of your business" said Aya and started
for the door.
"Oi, Aya. . ." said Yohji grabbing him by the wrist and stopping him
from leaving.
" Let me go," said Aya who was now really annoyed. " I don't have
time to listen to your nonsense."
"Aya we are worried about you," said Yohji, " We are all friends
around here and we look out for each other, and we think, I think you
should go see a doctor."
" I have had enough of hospitals to last me a lifetime," said Aya
really becoming angry and removing his wrist from Yohji's grasp. "
Besides it is my problem, not yours." And with that left the room.
Yohji was left in the room thinking why in the name of the gods was
Aya so stubborn.
" That baka" said Yohji passing a hand through his hair and searching
his pockets for a cigarette. He knew he had to get out of Aya's room
to smoke if he didn't want to get killed. The truth be told Yohji had
no idea why he cared if Aya didn't. But lately he noticed how Aya
seemed to be getting thinner, his eyes looked tired, the look of
someone holding on by a tread, the look of someone tired of life.
That frightened Yohji to no ends, more than it should. The thought of
losing Aya made him afraid and he didn't want to show how much. It
seemed that while everybody kept trying to lead normal lives, Aya saw
no reason for it.
" You are still here?" asked a very annoyed Aya, " Get the hell out, I
am going to change."
At this Yohji smiled slyly and said, " What, Aya, are you afraid I may
see something?"
Aya only pursed his lips into a thin line and headed towards the back
of the room searching his drawer for some underwear and a T-shirt,
while holding a towel in his waist. Yohji liked the view more that he
would admit to it, seeing how white Aya's skin was and how sometimes
he let go of his face, like right now, you could see the person he
might have become, he wouldn't be so fucked. Yohji didn't notice that
Aya was looking at him with a strange expression on his eyes.
" Oh, do you want me to turn my eyes?" said Yohji with a sarcastic
tone.
Aya didn't look at him and started to put on his boxers and a black
T-shirt. When he finished he used the towel on his hair and combed a
hand through it. To Yohji this seemed to be the most sensual thing he
had seen Aya do. However, Aya seemed oblivious to Yohji and kept on
picking up clothes as if Yohji wasn't even there.
" How are you feeling?" Yohji asked suddenly.
" Fine" said Aya with a tense note picking a brush to comb his hair.
Yohji saw Aya pick up the brush pass it through his hair once and
suddenly put it down turning to climb the bed.
" Aya are you ok?" said Yohji worried, but Aya didn't answer instead
he seemed to be fast asleep. Asleep and crying, Aya was crying! He
was crying in his sleep. This was all wrong, nobody falls asleep that
fast, and how he sounded he almost sounded like a little kid. Yohji
moved Aya again trying to get a reaction out of him, anything; Aya was
starting to scare him. " Aya, Aya wake up!" "You can't be asleep,
stop ignoring me!" Suddenly Aya opened his eyes and looked at Yohji
but with no sort of recognition in his eyes.
" Aya?" asked Yohji cautiously, " are you okay?"
Suddenly the old Aya was back and looked at Yohji strangely and said,
" What are you doing here Yohji?"
" I have been here the whole time, you went to sleep about five
minutes ago!" said Yohji trying to not show how that little thing had
freaked him out.
" I did?" asked Aya and fear crept into his eyes.
" Yeah, are you sure you are ok?" said Yohji touching Aya lightly on
the cheek.
Aya's eyes widened at this and a pink flush crept to his cheeks, but
he composed himself quickly. However, not fast enough for Yohji not
to notice it.
"Yes, I am fine, go to bed Yohji," said Aya turning his head and
pretending to be asleep.
" If you need anything call me, I am worried about you" said Yohji and
with that he left, feeling that the whole night had not been a waste,
he had seen how Aya had reacted to his touch. So the guy does have
feelings after all. However, the pleasant feeling did not last very
long when he remembered how Aya had acted. He was going to find out
what was wrong, and with that entered his room and went to bed.
The next morning Yohji went down to the kitchen at around noon and saw
Ken preparing to leave.
" Oi Yohji! why do you always have to get up so late?" asked Ken in a
rushed voice.
" You know I need my beauty sleep," said Yohji reaching for the coffee
pot.
" Humph, well just so you know Aya is not feeling very well, so you
should check up on him, ok?" said Ken, " also make sure he eats
something, he came down in the morning but looked like crap so Omi
sent him to bed again, not that he wanted to."
" Is he okay?" asked Yohji hoping that Ken wouldn't see how much this
actually bothered him.
" I guess he just needs some rest and he should be okay," said Ken
picking up his sweater, " I have to go but Omi should be back early
today to help you later, see ya."
" Bye," said Yohji but he wasn't listening to Ken anymore and as soon
as Ken left he climbed the stairs to Aya's room.
He knocked softly, " Aya? Are you ok?" but hearing nothing he entered
the room. The room was absolutely dark, but he heard what seemed to
be a kind of whimper. Instantly Yohji flipped the light switch and
the room was instantly flooded with light. At the corner of the room
he saw Aya struggling with something and whimpering.
" Aya?" asked Yohji and touched Aya lightly on the shoulder.
Aya turned to see him but there was something wrong, just his whole
posture seemed wrong and how he was looking at him. This wasn't Aya.
"Aya, what's wrong?" asked Yohji concerned. But it quickly faded to
surprise when he heard Aya speak, he sounded like a five year old! He
was crying and said, " Aya is mad at me, he said my mama and papa are
dead!" and with that Aya started to cry like a little child.
