Chapter 1: A Fresh Start
"Aya? Oi where did you go?" Yohji wondered out loud. He climbed the
fire escape to the roof of the building. Aya had been hurt on their
mission last night, and Yohji worried that the young man wouldn't
take care of his wounded side. Sure enough, Aya was there looking out
over the city, the sky was dark with a few stray stars twinkling in
unison From behind he looked so vulnerable, so small compared to the
towering buildings.
"That baka..." The older man shook his head and stepped outside. Aya
glanced up briefly then put his head down again.
"Why are you here?" Aya growled, immediately on the defense.
start1----"If your thinking of jumping, its not the best way to go."
Yohji walked over to the rail, keeping a fair distance between them.
"Leave me alone Yohji, I'm not in the mood to deal with you." The red-
head snarled moving farther away.----end
"What makes you think I'm here for you?" Yohji answered simply. Aya
shut his mouth quickly and continued to keep a watchful eye on his
partner. It was a long time before either of them said a word.
"You hide your feelings pretty well Aya. But you have one flaw."
Yohji spoke up after a long moment of silence, then walked closer to
him, making Aya feel uneasy.
"Who asked you." He whispered dangerously quiet.
"Your eyes. They give everything away." When Yohji was about 3 feet
away, Aya whipped out his Katana and aimed it straight for Yohji's
throat. The older Weiß member frowned. He couldn't help wonder why
Aya was like this.
"Stay away from me." Aya tried to maintain his calm but his voice
quaked.
"Aya, you can wave that thing in my face all you want. But I know you
wont do anything." Yohji reached out and pushed Aya's arm down.
"Relax for once. I just came up to get some fresh air." The blond
leaned on the rail next to Aya. More uncomfortable silence until Aya
shifted and let out a whimper.
"Aya?" Yohji turned to his partner and laid an arm on his shoulder
only to have it slapped off.
"Don't touch me!" Aya stood up to quickly putting strain on his
injured side which forced him to let out a yelp.
"Aya! I told you to bandage that yesterday!" Yohji rushed to his side
and attempted to help him up. Aya reached out and slapped him hard
across the face. Yohji touched his burning cheek a look of shock
evident on his features. Aya had stopped in his tracks, for a moment
Yohji could see an immense sadness in his deep amethyst eyes, which
quickly turned to fear as Yohji walked up to him forcing him against
the rail, meshing every available inch of their bodies together,
forced his tongue into the younger boys mouth and kissed him with all
his might. Aya was to shocked to protest. It felt so good, he moved
his arms up and rested them on Yohji's shoulders. He felt the blond's
hand move to gently support his neck. Yohji's skilled tongue explored
every crevice of his mouth, making him moan uncontrollably. He
desperately wanted more, but found himself running out of breath.
When Yohji finally pulled away, Aya fell to the ground gasping for
air. It was at that moment that Yohji had realized what he had done.
"Aya...Aya! I'm so sorry, I-I didn't mean to hurt you..." The blond
knelt down in front of him and supported his shoulders. Aya
surprisingly didn't pull away. Instead he backed up against the rail
and pulled his knees to his chest.
"Aya...What has been bothering you lately?" Yohji whispered, sitting
down next to him.
"Why should I tell you." Aya whispered back. He couldn't describe the
feelings he felt, they were so intense half his body wanted to crawl
into a dark hole and the other wanted to give himself to Yohji.
"Because you may not believe me but I'm your friend. Let me help you
ok?" Yohji's voice was soft and gentle, it made Aya relax a little
and feel more secure.
"I guess I should start at the beginning." Aya lifted his head up and
rested his chin on his knees. Yohji nodded, he felt so relieved Aya
was willing to talk to him. He'd always felt something more than just
friendship towards the beautiful red-head, he wanted to be as close
to him as possible even if he couldn't have him.
"I joined Weiss because I want revenge." Was how he started. Slowly
at first, cautiously.
"My parents were killed and-" He paused for a moment, He could feel
his tears coming, his whole body straining to release his hidden
burden. The feeling was too overwhelming. He put his head in between
his legs and started to hyperventilate.
"Aya, calm down...its okay, its okay..." Yohji rubbed his back in
smooth circles, trying to help the red-head regain his composition.
Aya lifted his head slowly and looked at Yohji, tears falling and let
out a sob. The blond didn't hesitate once to pull Aya into his lap
and hold him tightly. The small body shook with force from the cries
of pain and anger.
"Just let it all out, Aya."
Aya buried his head into Yohji's shirt, and let go of his deep pain.
He cried harder than he'd ever cried in his whole life. At this
moment his life was crashing down all around him. He had only one
thing he could hold onto and that was Yohji. And he did, pulling on
the older man's soft Argyle sweater, burying his face in to the
hollow juncture of his neck. It was a while before he had regained
himself enough to speak. Yohji was crying too as he rocked his friend
in his arms desperately trying to soothe his shot nerves.
"Its ok Aya, I'm here, I'm right here." He spoke reassuringly into
the red-heads ear.
"My sister is in a coma!" He sobbed some more.
"Its all because of TAKATORI!" He spat out. His arms encircling
himself as he shuddered and shook. Yohji rested his head on Aya's,
and brought his arms around his shoulders. Yohji wiped his eyes on
his sleeve, then gently wiped away Aya's tears with his thumbs.
"Thats why I'm here." Aya continued. "The money I make in this job,
pays for my sister's hospital bill." Aya was to tired to care about
the position he was in now. After telling Yohji his life's story, he
felt like a gigantic burden had been lifted and he began to rebuild
his trust around his new friend.
"Aya, I'm sorry. I had no idea, none of us knew you where having such
a hard time." Yohji whispered sadly.
"I don't want to become attached to anyone. If I die, I don't want
people to grieve over me. I'm not worth their time." Aya realized the
irony of this sentence. Each second that passed by, made him feel
closer and closer to Yohji.
"You may not realize this Aya, but we're all really close to you.
We've always been close to you even though you kept your distance
from us." Yohji smiled and gave Aya a squeeze.
"Let me bandage your side, ok?" The blond effortlessly lifted Aya up
into his arms. "Your in no condition to be on your feet."Aya was
about to protest when he realized how nice it was resting in Yohji's
arms. He closed his mouth and wrapped his arms around Yohji's neck.
"Thank you Yohji, for everything." Aya gave him a small smile as they
climbed down the stairs.
"You don't have to thank me Aya, you would have done the same for
me." Yohji smiled. Aya thought for a moment, then nodded. He would
have, even if it went against every emotion in his body Aya knew that
someday, he'd have the courage to care for Yohji.
