The serial cryogenics 5 installation was made in Swedish Lapland, in a small forest area surrounding the Icehotel which is built every year in Jukkasjärvi. this installation stayed frozen, in the natur, outdoor, from December 1999 to April 2000, when it begin to melt and dissapear into the ground. Every things melted, even the photographs. it was made with nines iceblocks, each contained a B&W photographs print on a sensitiv emulsion.
Because this ice is completely clear, very compact and strong, take off from the Tornio river, the pictures are visible from both side.

After the print, i set up those frozen bodies pictures by sticking the iceblock on by one. It's strong and fragile at the same time, there is very few sticks area. It's completely minerals and organics. The memory seems stock into the ice as the dust and the stratified lay of the year. The installation was set up just before one of the persons, represented on the pictures, went on travel, and cames back when the spring makes her pictures melting. After all, i made different light environment, which are different variations of these ice statement. All these photographs of these installation are made in large professionnal color prints as well.
