Details

The curious fashion show is an installation for the happenings night of the clothes designer Lidia Serpa, at the Batofar in Paris. The subject was around freaks and the curious office. It has been a collectiv performance mixing the work of a clothes designer, visual artist, video artist, D.J, landscapes artist...

I made an installation with dolls frozen inside icecylinder hanging and melting on Carbonics ice inside the boat, and frozen clothes, photographic iceblocks, washing machine and dryer outside, on the platform. The washing machine was a link with the clothes of the fashion show inside the boat, and was suppose to make the ice melting by the waste outlet. each big iceblock was around 300 kg, 1 m high, 80 cm large and 30 cm deep. Everythings was done for 24 hours and melt during the night and the day after.

The idea was to keep the doll picture into the ice because it's a model for a lot of people, but then, this perfect image is destroyed by the ice and is going to melt. How the fashion is somethings which built an illusion that we freeze ourself into this recognizing image, then i keep it frozen but finally it brings you to a lose.
