February 2000 for the 1st time, the Mauritius Telecom has issued a set of prepaid cards. These cards are called Passepartout cards, French words meaning can be used anywhere, they exist in the following values Rs50*, Rs150*, Rs250*, Rs500*,they can be used for international calls as well as local calls. Calling rates were much higher than for chip cards, so this contributed to make it unpopular to use. The cards are very unpopular, and are very difficult to find in used condition, so they are very rare. They are even rarer than Mauritius chip cards!!! Even the few found in used condition are mostly too damaged for collecting purposes, bent, broken etc.
From the 5th Nov 2002 Mauritius Telecom reduced the telephone rates for Passepartout cards, so this should increase the use of this card.
Perfect condition= Without defects, Fine Used = few light scratches, Average Used = few deep scratches or many light scratches
Prices of cards in Red means that only 1 or 2 cards are available
* The Face Value selling Prices were exclusive of the VAT which are 15% since 2002
