About Carolyn Molson

Carolyn has had a lifelong interest in photography, having been given her first camera at the age of 7. She was born in Newfoundland, and moved to Ottawa in 1965. After a long nursing career, she recently retired, and is now able to devote more time to her photography.

An active member of the R.A. photo club for sixteen years, she has attained the senior level. Over the past few years she has attended various photography seminars, as well as participated in workshops given by Freeman Patterson and Richard Martin.

This award-winning photographer has had her work published in Canada and the United States. Her photographs can also be found in private collections across Canada, the U.S., England, New Zealand, German and Japan. Her one-of-a-kind Ilfachrome prints are hanging in Galerie du Bic, Qc.

Having been surrounded by the sea during her early years, she continues to be fascinated by the way the everchanging light and sea breezes create their various abstract patterns on the water. She is particularly attracted to old wooden boats and their salt water reflections.

Carolyn has a personal, intimate relationship with her subjects: a connection she hopes, through her art, she is able to communicate to others.
